8 months

I have a feeling month 8 is going to be a big month for Nolan by the start of things!  He has already had numerous firsts this past week.  First overnight at Gran and Gramps house.  First haircut.  Today he started officially crawling!!!  He has been army crawling, rolling, & moving backwards but had yet to master getting his knees under him until today.  He is also now sleeping 10+ hours a night in his big boy crib!  Nolan is such a happy little guy and life is so full with him around!

One of Nolan's most admired features is his hair :)  It sticks straight up and it does not lay flat.  I had a hair appointment yesterday and was lucky enough to get a little trim around the ears as well as some advice on "hair training" for the boy.  We will see how it goes!

One last picture of Dad giving Nolan his bath last night.  I think bath pics are adorable!

Jeff and I had our first night without Nolan on Saturday. It was weird to wake up and not have to attend to baby.  It was easy to have a good night knowing Nolan was with mom.  We had a great time at Ryan and Kristina's wedding and it was enjoyable seeing everyone.

Weekend things....

I decided I better post about this past weekend before another weekend officially began again!  Summer is officially over and the fair is here!  A Thompson tradition we all went on opening night and Nolan was able to experience his first of many Oklahoma State Fairs!  It is always one of my most favorite nights of the year and we had a great time!!

I was so excited that Jeff was able to put together our new courtyard set up this weekend.  We have been wanting to do this for quite some time and finally made it happen.  What a peaceful Saturday morning we had enjoying being outside.  As you can see Nolan was very excited to find the dirt and rocks.  What a boy!

LOVE my weekend time at home with my boys.  Nothing like getting off the treadmill to find this!  Like father, like son.  What a perfect pair.  I'm pretty sure the bond between these two is indescribable.  What a blessing family is!

End of summer...

Funny how the slow, uneventful, restful weekends are my favorite now :)  Even better is when they are three day Holiday weekends!!  First time in as long as I can remember that I was not in Norman for the home opener.  Honestly, did not even miss it.  We had a great watch party instead.  Sliders, blueberry lemon cake, and wine in an air conditioned home with front row seats.  I also might have moved back to my bed with Nolan for the second half!!

After church, lunch and napping Sunday we enjoyed some cloud covered swimming at Gran and Gramps in the company of Jeff, Cindy, the girls and grandparents! Always fun to see everyone and watch Nolan interact and watch other kiddos!

Monday we all slept until 6:45- big deal at the Thompson house!!  That is sleeping in for all 3 of us!!  We had a lazy morning of coffee, working out, and blueberry pancakes (they had a plethora at sprouts) before we headed out for some errand running and shoe shopping.  We ended the day at the Thompson pond with the the fam for some casual pizza and swimming.  It was a great weekend!
